The buildings of Manchester, especially the contrast between old and new. On one hand is the Victorian cast iron and brickwork in rich browns and russets, and on the other is the modern steel, concrete and glass in blues, greys and steel. And of course everything is bathed in the rain that we Mancunians love so much!

I first started my painting by drawing inspiration from the quirky buildings of Venice. This quickly lead to a commission and prompted me to seek ideas for works closer to home. Since then I have not looked back and continue to find interesting views throughout my home city.
